The community is invited to learn more about the new Maritime|253 Skills Center at an in-person enrollment information event:
- Tuesday, Feb. 3
- 6:00–7:30 p.m.
- Foss Waterway Seaport (705 Dock St., Tacoma)
This event is an opportunity for students, families and community members to meet Maritime|253 staff, connect with industry and education partners, and learn about program offerings and career opportunities within the maritime industry.
There are eight member school districts; Chief Leschi, Sumner-Bonney Lake School District, University Place School District, Vashon Island School District, Orting School District, Tacoma Public Schools, Fife Public Schools, and Franklin Pierce Schools.
As member districts, each has guaranteed seats for its students and its superintendent serves on the Maritime|253 governing board, helping shape program offerings, partnerships, and long-term direction. This collaborative structure ensures that students across the region have access to hands-on learning aligned with the maritime, technology, port operations, logistics, sustainability, and advanced manufacturing industries.
